Special Education Teacher in Jersey City, NJ

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher with a well-established educational organization near Jersey City, NJ. This role spans from August 31 to June 22, with hours from 7:35 AM to 3:05 PM, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development.

In this position, you will provide in-class instructional support across five classes, working directly with up to ten students per class. Collaboration, compassion, and adaptability are essential as you tailor learning strategies to accommodate diverse student needs and foster an inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher required
• Preference for candidates with high school special education experience, but all certified educators with a passion for this population are encouraged to apply
• Strong knowledge of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and the latest classroom management techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Ability to effectively engage, inspire, and support students with varying learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instructional support within the classroom setting for up to 10 students per session
• Partner with classroom teachers to modify lessons and instructional materials for accessibility
• Support individualized education plan (IEP) goals
• Track and document student progress, providing timely feedback to students, parents, and administration
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive class climate
