Special Education Teacher - Jersey City, New Jersey

Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging, contract position for the full school year. Starting as soon as possible, you’ll work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, ensuring students receive the individualized guidance and instruction they deserve.

Your expertise will be valued as you rotate between four designated school sites, offering essential services to a caseload of 30 to 40 students. With a home base for administrative support, you’ll play a key role in academic planning and be an integral part of students’ educational journeys.

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Special Education (SPED) teaching certification and Learning Disability Teacher-Consultant (LDTC) credential required
• Experience performing evaluations in an elementary school setting
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and case management
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with families
• Adaptable, organized, and passionate about making a difference for young learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction tailored to meet the needs of each student
• Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments
• Develop, review, and update IEPs in collaboration with staff and parents
• Track student progress and maintain detailed records
• Travel between assigned locations as needed to support students
