Special Education Teacher - Jersey City, New Jersey

Make a transformative impact as a Special Education Teacher working onsite full time (32.5 hours per week) in an engaging educational setting near Jersey City, NJ. This contract position runs through June 2027 and offers the opportunity to support students’ growth and learning in diverse elementary and middle school environments. Select from a variety of caseload options tailored to your expertise: serve elementary learners with learning disabilities, provide specialized instruction to students on the autism spectrum, work with elementary children with behavioral disabilities, or teach middle school students with multiple and complex instructional needs.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Valid standard teaching certificate
• Appropriate endorsement in your instructional area (e.g., Students with Disabilities, Math, History, Autism, etc.)

What you’ll do:

• Craft and deliver dynamic, standards-aligned lesson plans based on district curriculum and the New Jersey Student Learning Standards
• Set clear and measurable learning objectives, gathering evidence of growth through thoughtful assessment strategies
• Collaborate with school administrators, fellow educators, and support staff to further district-wide educational priorities
• Take an active part in Professional Learning Communities and joint planning sessions to share best practices and support professional growth
