Grades 9 - 12 Grades 6 - 8 Special Ed Teacher | Jewett City, Connecticut

A position is available for a Special Education Teacher serving students in grades 9 through 12 in a high school setting. This contract role runs from ASAP through June 11 and involves working with a mild to moderate population within inclusion and resource settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with mild to moderate special education requirements.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom environments.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Special Education (grades 9-12) — DSAP certifications are not accepted.
• Experience working with mild to moderate special education populations in secondary education.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to create supportive and inclusive learning environments.

Hours and Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM
