Make an impact working with 7th grade students in a resource classroom as a Special Education Teacher in a rewarding, full-time contract position. This role is based near Jewett City, CT and offers the opportunity to support students as they build academic and social skills in a supportive learning environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience working with middle school students, preferably in a resource classroom setting
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Ability to differentiate instruction based on individual needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to 7th grade students in a resource classroom setting
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support student success
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning needs
  • Create a safe, effective, and inclusive learning environment
  • Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in team meetings
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and goals
