A dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in a well-supported K-12 elementary setting in Joliet, IL. This contract position for the current school year involves managing a self-contained classroom designed to support 6–10 students with diverse learning needs. The role fosters an inclusive environment with access to a co-teacher and full-time Speech-Language Pathologist, ensuring collaborative and effective student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique learning requirements
- Collaborate closely with a certified LBS1 co-teacher, Speech-Language Pathologist, and other support staff to enhance instructional outcomes
- Deliver engaging instruction aligned with district curriculum frameworks and individual student goals
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to create a positive and productive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement is required
- Experience working in an elementary educational setting is preferred
- Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and classroom management
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
