Special Education Teacher in Joliet, IL

An educational opportunity is available for two Special Education Teachers to support middle school students in an inclusive resource setting. This full-time contract position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs.

Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Student Age Group: Middle School

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs within an inclusive resource environment
• Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet educational goals
• Maintaining accurate records and communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and concerns
• Participating in professional development sessions and school meetings to stay current with best practices in special education

Qualifications:

• Certification in Special Education required
• Experience working with middle school-aged students in an inclusive or resource setting strongly preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create and execute individualized lesson plans that support student growth
