In this role, you’ll serve as a cross-categorical teacher, working 37.5 hours per week. Collaborate with a dynamic team dedicated to fostering inclusion and empowering students with varied learning needs. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience with cross-categorical special education preferred
  • Strong knowledge of social studies and science curriculum
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Positive communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons in social studies and science tailored to individual student needs
  • Create a classroom environment that accommodates students with disabilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate IEPs in collaboration with staff and families
  • Assess student abilities, monitor progress, and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Foster inclusion by collaborating with general education teachers and support staff
  • Communicate effectively with families about student goals and achievements
  • Encourage student growth, independence, and self-advocacy
