Qualifications:
• Hold a valid Illinois Special Education teaching license (LBS 1)
• Possess an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Fluency in both English and Spanish required
• Prior experience working in school-based special education settings preferred
• Adept at designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct special education services to bilingual students according to IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education staff, school personnel, and families to support inclusive practices
• Maintain compliant records and document student progress
• Conduct assessments and participate in eligibility, IEP, and progress meetings
• Promote a positive, supportive classroom environment
• Use evidence-based instructional practices
• Bridge communication between English/Spanish-speaking families and school staff
