Special Education Teacher - Joliet, IL

You’ll lead a specialized classroom with just five students, allowing for individualized support and meaningful connections. The schedule is structured, with work hours from 8:40 AM to 3:25 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours each week.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current, active Illinois Special Education Teacher license and relevant certification
• Previous experience working in a school-based setting
• Ability to design and implement differentiated instructional strategies
• Familiarity with IEP processes, student progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily classroom instruction tailored to the learning needs of 3rd and 4th-grade students with special needs
• Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with educational staff and families for student growth
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
