Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students as part of a collaborative instructional team! This full-time contract position begins August 19, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027. In this role, you'll co-teach 6th and 7th grade English Language Arts and Math classes, sharing expertise and strategies to empower students of diverse learning profiles. Work alongside two committed educators, providing targeted support and fostering a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
Enjoy a consistent weekly schedule—35 hours per week—starting each morning at 7:45am and ending your day by 2:50pm. Compensation for this role ranges from $40 to $50 per hour, reflecting the value placed on your experience and credentials.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois with LBS1 endorsement required
- Experience teaching or co-teaching in a middle school setting preferred
- Proven ability to adapt instruction for a variety of learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in delivering ELA and math content within a co-teaching model
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach multiple sections of ELA and Math for 6th and 7th graders
- Partner with general education teachers to deliver high-quality instruction
- Support IEP implementation and student progress monitoring
- Utilize differentiated strategies to address individualized student goals
