Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, required
• Valid South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) teaching license in a designated special education category (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Multi-categorical, Emotional Disabilities)
• Demonstrated experience providing instruction and individualized supports to students with diverse learning needs
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, compliance, and evidence-based instructional strategies
• Excellent communication skills to foster meaningful connections with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability to accommodate variable caseloads and instructional demands

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with identified special needs in accordance with their IEPs
• Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive records to ensure adherence to educational plans
• Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to optimize student outcomes
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to development, review, and modification of individualized plans
• Utilize formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and measure growth
• Maintain an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and academic achievement
• Remain current with special education best practices, state guidelines, and compliance standards
