Special Education Teacher - Juneau, Alaska

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Alaska teaching license, with all current Special Education certifications
• Proof of licensure and Type C certification (either copy or certification numbers required)
• Experience or strong interest in working with special education populations in a school setting
• Enthusiasm for creating an inclusive, engaging, and positive learning environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to in-person instruction; virtual options aren’t available for this assignment

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varying needs
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to address diverse learning abilities
• Partner with general education teachers and allied staff to foster an inclusive classroom
• Proactively communicate with families and school stakeholders regarding student progress
• Assess, document, and report on student growth and instructional effectiveness
• Contribute positively to the school community, upholding professional standards
