Special Education Teacher | Kalama, Washington

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State Certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience supporting students with a range of disabilities at the middle school level
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and staff
• Enthusiasm for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student goals
• Modify curriculum and accommodations for diverse learning needs
• Coordinate with general education teachers and related service providers
• Track student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
• Engage with families to support student growth and foster open communication
• Maintain a safe, encouraging classroom environment
