Special Education Teacher - Kansas City, KS

As a Special Education Teacher in this setting, you’ll work closely with a small group of eight students, ensuring personalized attention and impactful learning experiences.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Kansas Low Incidence Special Education License required
• Experience working in elementary school environments preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with fellow educators, support staff, and families
• Ability to tailor lessons and interventions for individual needs
• Commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere and assisting students in reaching their potential

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized instructional plans for students within the LIFT Program
• Maintain compliant, accurate IEP documentation and progress reporting
• Collaborate with classroom staff, therapists, and administration to provide comprehensive support
• Employ evidence-based practices and adaptive technologies to enhance learning outcomes
• Support social, behavioral, and emotional growth in addition to academic achievement
• Engage actively in team meetings, professional development, and communication with parents and guardians
