Special Education Teacher - Kansas City, Kansas

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Experience developing and adapting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability to meet each student’s unique learning needs
• Previous experience working in a K-12 school setting preferred

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and assess customized learning plans for students with varying abilities
• Modify curricula to fit individual learning styles and requirements
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure student progress
• Maintain accurate IEP records and documentation in compliance with district and federal guidelines
• Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and positive reinforcement to students
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and relevant training sessions
