Soliant is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom in Kansas City, MO, supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. This role focuses on creating an inclusive, structured environment where individualized instruction, social-emotional growth, and academic achievement are prioritized. The ideal candidate is compassionate, collaborative, and committed to helping every student reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction in a self-contained life skills classroom for upper elementary-aged students, focusing on functional academics, daily living, communication, and social-emotional skills for a caseload of six students.
- Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with Missouri DESE guidelines, including goal setting, progress monitoring, and data-driven instructional adjustments.
- Supervise and collaborate with classroom assistants/paraprofessionals, providing direction to ensure effective support, consistency in instruction, and implementation of behavior intervention strategies.
- Maintain a structured, supportive learning environment using evidence-based practices, while collaborating with families and service providers to promote student independence and overall success.
Experience:
- Previous experience in schools preferred.
Education:
- Missouri Special Education Teaching License
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract
Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 37.5 hours per week
