Position Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
• Provide specialized instruction tailored to students' unique learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.
• Adapt curriculum, assignments, and teaching strategies to support student success.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure comprehensive student support.
• Maintain accurate and compliant educational records and documentation.
• Conduct assessments and utilize data to guide instructional decision-making.
• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Implement classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and positive behavior.
• Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, and life skills.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid Missouri Special Education teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Previous experience working in a school-based special education setting.
• Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs.
• Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies and data collection.
• Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Experience with inclusion, resource, or self-contained classroom settings.
