Soliant Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher for a school district in Raytown, MO. Position Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to students' unique learning, behavioral, and developmental needs.
- Adapt curriculum, assignments, and teaching strategies to support student success.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Maintain accurate and compliant educational records and documentation.
- Conduct assessments and utilize data to guide instructional decision-making.
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Implement classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and positive behavior.
- Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, and life skills.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Missouri Special Education teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience working in a school-based special education setting.
- Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs.
- Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies and data collection.
- Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience with inclusion, resource, or self-contained classroom settings.
