Special Education Teacher - Kelso, WA

Make a difference supporting K-12 students as a contract Special Education Teacher in a dynamic educational setting. The position is full-time and on-site through June 2027, working across multiple buildings with a focus on paperwork and compliance for special education services.

What we’re looking for:

• Current and active Special Education Teaching Certification/License
• Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting
• Excellent organizational skills, especially in managing paperwork and IEP documentation
• Ability to travel between school buildings within the district
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to the values of inclusion and accessibility in education

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee and complete special education paperwork, including IEPs, evaluations, and related documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
• Serve a caseload of students across kindergarten to twelfth grade, adapting to various educational environments
• Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and school-wide initiatives to foster a supportive learning atmosphere
• Ensure services provided meet established requirements and best practices within special education
