Make a real impact as a full-time Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students with diverse needs. This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to work onsite with students from Kindergarten through 6th grade, focusing primarily on Applied Skills instruction for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other mild to intense intervention requirements.
This role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, providing the stability you need to build meaningful relationships with both students and staff. The position begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year, with opportunities for extension, summer session, or permanent hire based on performance and school district needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Indiana teaching license in Special Education with mild or intense intervention endorsement
- Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher, Autism Specialist, or similar role working directly with elementary-aged students
- Extensive knowledge of ASD and effective strategies for delivering Applied Skills curriculum
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Ability to tailor instructional approaches to individual learning styles and IEP goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction and interventions to students in a self-contained special education setting
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to foster a supportive learning environment
- Participate in professional development and school-based meetings as required
