This role means working full-time (40 hours weekly, 7:30AM–3:30PM) at an elementary site, serving students kindergarten through sixth grade. You’ll focus mainly on applied skills instruction for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), utilizing either a Mild or Intense Intervention license. There is also the exciting possibility of contract extension or permanent placement beyond the current school year.
Qualifications/Experience Sought:
- Indiana licensure in Special Education (either Mild or Intense Intervention)
- Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Skills in implementing Applied Skills programs in an elementary environment
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborative team teaching
Key Duties:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for K-6 students, predominantly those with ASD
- Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and families to meet educational goals
- Develop and modify IEPs to ensure every child’s progress
- Foster an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development
