Special Education Teacher - Kenner, LA

This full-time contract opportunity as a Special Education Resource Teacher takes place onsite at an elementary school, giving you the chance to work closely with students, families, and staff to foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere. The assignment runs throughout the academic year, providing consistency and professional growth from August through late May.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Louisiana Special Education Educator Certificate
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher (resource preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom environment
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction and interventions to students with special needs, primarily as a resource teacher
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide progress reports
• Uphold all state and federal guidelines related to special education
