Special Education Teacher in Kenner, LA

You’ll work onsite with a diverse caseload, drawing on your adaptability and commitment to student growth from August 2026 through May 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana Educator Certificate required
• Preference for candidates with a Special Education Educator Certificate, but open to those holding an Elementary Grades 1-5 Certificate
• Ability to work confidently in a variety of educational settings
• Experience working with students who have special needs is highly valued
• Strong communication, flexibility, and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and growth
• Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed
• Serve as a resource for general education teachers and staff regarding best practices in special education
• Engage with families to provide regular updates and support
• Maintain accurate student records and stay current with all documentation requirements
