Special Education Teacher in Kenner, LA

What we’re seeking:

• Holds an active Louisiana Educator Certificate (required)
• Preferably possesses the SPED Educator Certificate; Elementary 1-5 Certificate candidates will also be considered
• Demonstrates adaptability and can confidently work in any classroom environment or special education setting
• Previous experience in special education is desirable but not mandatory
• Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing specialized instruction tailored to students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Developing lesson plans, adapting curriculum, and fostering inclusive classroom environments
• Assessing student progress and maintaining comprehensive records
• Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Creating a positive and supportive atmosphere to help every student thrive
• Participating in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
