Step into a fulfilling role as a Special Education Teacher providing support and guidance to young learners in a dynamic classroom setting. This full-time contract position offers the unique opportunity to work with first through third-grade students, focusing on a multi-mixed, primarily ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) environment. You will be leading a class of just seven students, each with their own strengths and needs, supported by a dedicated team of teacher assistants. Enjoy a structured schedule from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday, and early dismissal at 2:00 pm on Fridays—giving you more time for personal pursuits.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Special Education teaching certification
  • Proven experience working with elementary-aged students, especially grades 1-3
  • Background in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and non-verbal student supports
  • Comfortable in multi-mixed classroom settings
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Compassionate, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and aides

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized instructional plans for students with special needs
  • Work closely with a heavily staffed team of teacher assistants to maintain a supportive learning environment
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Foster positive, inclusive, and respectful interactions in the classroom
  • Collaborate with families and related service professionals to support student success
