Special Education Teacher in Kennett Square, PA

You’ll be instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment—crafting individualized education plans (IEPs) and delivering direct reading instruction to a small, dedicated group of 12 students aged 7 to 13. Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience writing and implementing IEPs
• Strong background in reading instruction for elementary and middle school students
• Ability to differentiate instructional methods based on student needs
• Skilled in collaborating with instructional teams, families, and support staff
• Excellent organizational and written communication abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, write, and update IEPs tailored to individual student requirements
• Deliver engaging reading lessons and interventions for students with diverse learning needs
• Track and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing ongoing feedback
• Communicate and consult regularly with parents, guardians, and other professionals
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and independence
• Adapt materials and teaching techniques to accommodate varying learning styles
