The current opening is for an experienced self-contained EBD (Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities) educator, effective 2/20, working in a small classroom setting. This pivotal role offers the rewarding challenge of working closely with a maximum of 6–7 students (currently just 3 with the support of an aide), allowing for individualized planning and relationship-building that truly makes a difference.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Demonstrated expertise working with EBD students
- Extensive experience managing and redirecting challenging behaviors
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with emotional and behavioral needs
- Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Coordinate with staff, including a classroom aide, to ensure optimal learning support
- Maintain open communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt instructional methods to accommodate student growth as classroom numbers expand
