Special Education Teacher | Killeen, Texas

As a Special Education Teacher, you'll make a meaningful impact on students across the district in a full-time, contract role—working 40 hours per week. Multiple positions are available district-wide, with assignments tailored to both your certification and teaching experience for Early Childhood through Grade 12.

Your journey begins August 3, 2026, with a comprehensive orientation, followed by the first day of school on August 17. The contract runs through the last day of classes on May 27, 2027.

Qualifications:

• Current and active Texas Teaching Certification required
• Must hold Special Education, EC-12 certification
• Additionally, must have at least ONE of the following:
  • EC-6 Core Subjects certification
  • 4-8 Generalist certification
  • 9-12 subject-specific certification
• Experience with diverse student populations a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement IEPs tailored to students' unique learning needs
• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in inclusive and specialized settings
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Communicate regularly with families, maintaining a positive and supportive relationship
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods based on student assessment and progress monitoring
