A Connecticut school is seeking four Special Education Teachers to join its team across multiple specialized programs. These roles support students with a range of academic and behavioral needs in small, structured settings. The school emphasizes individualized instruction, therapeutic supports, and strong collaboration among staff.


Available Assignments

Therapeutic Academy (Behavior Program) – 2 Openings

  • Grades 5–8: Small classroom of 4 students

  • Grades 9–12: Classroom of 7 students

  • Focus on behavior regulation, social-emotional development, and academic support

  • Work closely with behavior specialists and support staff

Grades 2–4 Resource Program – 1 Opening

  • Caseload of approximately 15 students

  • Provide targeted academic support through push-in and pull-out services

  • Support students in accessing general education curriculum

Grades 2–4 Academic Intensive Learning Program – 1 Opening

  • Small classroom setting with 4 students

  • Serve students requiring more intensive academic intervention

  • Emphasis on individualized instruction and skill-building


Responsibilities

  • Deliver differentiated instruction aligned with IEP goals

  • Implement behavior supports and therapeutic strategies as needed

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including related service providers

  • Monitor student progress and maintain special education documentation

  • Participate in IEP meetings and team planning


Qualifications

  • Connecticut Special Education certification (or eligibility)

  • Experience with behavioral programs and/or small, specialized classrooms preferred

  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills

  • Ability to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
