A Connecticut school is actively hiring four Special Education Teachers to support students in highly structured, small-group environments. These openings span therapeutic behavior programs and intensive academic settings, serving elementary through high school students. The school prioritizes individualized instruction, consistent routines, and strong team collaboration.


Current Openings

Therapeutic Academy – Behavior-Focused Program (2 Positions)

  • Grades 5–8: 4 students

  • Grades 9–12: 7 students

  • Emphasis on behavior intervention, emotional regulation, and academic access

  • Collaboration with behavior and clinical support teams

Elementary Resource Program (Grades 2–4)

  • Approximately 15 students supported through push-in and pull-out services

  • Focus on strengthening core academic skills within the general education framework

Academic Intensive Learning Program (Grades 2–4)

  • Small, self-contained classroom with 4 students

  • Provides structured, high-support instruction for students with intensive learning needs


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver instruction aligned to student IEPs

  • Implement behavior support plans and classroom management strategies

  • Provide individualized and small-group academic instruction

  • Collaborate with related service providers and school leadership

  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements


Qualifications

  • Connecticut Special Education certification or eligibility

  • Experience with therapeutic or behavior-focused programs preferred

  • Strong instructional, organizational, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work effectively in small, high-support classroom environments
