A high school near Kyle, TX is seeking a Special Education Teacher to work with a supportive team of educators and a wonderful group of students. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM. This position carries a manageable caseload of about 20 high school students, focusing on those who require additional support, especially around transition planning and graduation supplements—key elements in crafting student success.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) experience, and confidently participate in meetings to advocate for student needs. The school values professionalism and community, and requires adherence to its dress code that emphasizes equality.
Desired Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Texas Educator License with Special Education and Core/Generalist Endorsements
- Documented experience with Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate with high school staff, students, and families
- Commitment to upholding professional standards and dress code: no visible tattoos, natural hair color, work-appropriate attire, and limited visible piercings
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs aligned with transition and graduation requirements
- Provide direct instruction, support, and advocacy for students with diverse needs
