This full-time, contract opportunity is in a welcoming elementary school and begins immediately, with coverage needed through October 30th, 2026 (with the potential for extension based on ongoing staffing needs).
Key Qualifications:
- Current Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification.
- Previous experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in a school setting, is highly desirable.
- Ability to thrive as a collaborative team member, providing classroom support alongside a lead teacher.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, patient demeanor.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in a kindergarten classroom, contributing to a nurturing and productive learning environment.
- Provide individual and group support to students as directed, facilitating age-appropriate activities.
- Help maintain classroom order and promote a safe, inclusive atmosphere.
- Support students’ learning, behavior, and engagement throughout the school day—no toileting duties involved.
Working Details:
- Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week.
- Role is based on a medical leave; the assignment may be extended for the remainder of the year depending on contractor needs.
- Caseload does not currently include specialized special education duties—focus is on class-wide assistance as a classroom aide.
