As a vital resource for your students, you’ll design and deliver instruction tailored to individual needs, partner with general education teachers, and cultivate a nurturing learning environment. This is a full-time role, with a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours onsite.

Key Qualifications

  • Valid Louisiana Special Education Educator Certificate (required)
  • Prior experience in special education, preferably in an elementary resource or similar setting
  • Familiarity with IEP development, documentation, and implementation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and interventions for students in the resource setting
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to implement IEPs
  • Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Develop engaging lessons that accommodate varied learning styles
