Special Education Teacher in La Place, LA

Key Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Educator Certificate required
• Preference for candidates with a Special Education Educator Certificate; Elementary 1-5 Certificate holders also considered
• Comfortable working in any classroom or special education setting
• Previous experience supporting elementary-aged students in a school environment is an asset
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with students’ IEPs and diverse learning requirements
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster a supportive educational atmosphere
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
• Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for special education
• Contribute actively to IEP meetings and maintain accurate records
