Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Active Louisiana Educator Certificate required
- Preference for candidates with Special Education (SPED) Educator Certificate; Elementary 1-5 Certificate holders considered
- Experience, or comfort level, working across a range of special education settings
- Ability to adapt instruction, develop IEPs, and communicate progress with families
- Strong commitment to inclusion, student growth, and collaborative teaching
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Positive, professional approach with both students and colleagues
Responsibilities in This Role:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the SPED program
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to deliver engaging instruction
- Track student growth, collect data, and communicate progress with families
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment tailored to a broad spectrum of learner needs
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain compliance with all educational standards and policies
- Work cooperatively with administration and resource teams to maximize student success
