Desired Qualifications and Background:

• Valid certification in Special Education or eligibility for licensure
• Experience working within a self-contained classroom, particularly serving students with significant disabilities
• Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Skilled in adapting curriculum materials to meet diverse student needs
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for collaboration with families and school teams
• Compassion, patience, and resourcefulness to support students’ academic and functional growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive classroom instruction and support to middle school learners with severe disabilities
• Develop, maintain, and monitor IEPs to ensure each student receives appropriate educational interventions
• Manage daily classroom operations to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Partner closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other team members to address each student’s unique strengths and challenges
