Provide individualized support to elementary students by stepping into a full-time contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher. This role focuses on delivering exceptional services to K-6th grade students in a typical special education classroom setting. You'll play a vital part in fostering growth and independence by addressing diverse learning needs and collaborating closely with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-aged children, specifically grades K-6
  • Solid grasp of IEP processes, including writing and executing Individualized Education Programs
  • Ability to effectively communicate with administrators, colleagues, students, and families
  • Strong organizational skills and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional support to students in accordance with their IEPs
  • Develop, write, and update IEPs to ensure educational goals are appropriate and measurable
  • Lead and participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Adapt and modify general education curriculum and lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Collect and monitor data on student progress, adjusting instructional techniques as necessary
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth and engagement
