This contract position is designed for a dedicated educator who is passionate about supporting 18-21-year-old female students who have aged out of the traditional school system but require continued assistance reaching their IEP goals.
With a flexible schedule of 20-25 hours per week, you will be the cornerstone of a specialized program, playing a pivotal role from August through the school year. As the licensed teacher on-site, you will lead the program daily from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with additional time available for preparation, documentation, and collaboration (potentially 9:30 am-2:30 pm).
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and assessment
- Experience working with transition-aged students and knowledge of life skills curriculum
- Ability to foster independence and guide students towards meaningful post-school outcomes
- Strong communication, documentation, and team collaboration skills

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the licensed instructor overseeing the program and meeting state licensure requirements
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction based on each student's IEP
- Collect data and monitor progress toward IEP goals, updating plans as necessary
- Collaborate with support staff, vocational coaches, and families to ensure holistic support
- Promote skill-building in academics, daily living, and community integration
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment tailored to young adult learners
