Pre K Special Education Teacher - Lafayette, Alabama

Make a meaningful impact in a rewarding role for the 26/27 school year as a PreK Special Education Teacher. This full-time opportunity supports an inclusive classroom, working with a vibrant group of up to 18 four-year-old students, including both those with IEPs and their typically developing peers. You’ll collaborate with two dedicated paraprofessionals, ensuring a supportive and dynamic learning environment. The school operates on Eastern Standard Time.

Ideal Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience in early childhood and/or inclusive settings preferred
• Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) development and implementation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and administrators
• Passion for fostering an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging classroom community

In this role, you will:

• Provide differentiated instruction tailored to diverse learning needs in an inclusion PreK class
• Develop and adapt lesson plans, integrating best practices in early childhood special education
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to support all students, maintaining a positive classroom environment
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Foster positive relationships with students and their families, supporting their educational journeys
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions
