Qualifications & Experience:
- Current state certification in Special Education (preferred for grades 6-8 or middle grades)
- Experience working with middle grades students in a special education setting
- Familiarity with therapeutic or alternative education programs is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills with an emphasis on positive behavioral supports
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and IEP requirements
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities with peers, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction to middle-grade students using individualized strategies
- Implement IEP goals and modifications in both academic and social-emotional areas
- Foster a therapeutic, engaging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Work collaboratively with counselors, therapists, and administration
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records
- Participate actively in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
