Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current state certification in Special Education (preferred for grades 6-8 or middle grades)
  • Experience working with middle grades students in a special education setting
  • Familiarity with therapeutic or alternative education programs is a plus
  • Strong classroom management skills with an emphasis on positive behavioral supports
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and IEP requirements
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities with peers, students, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction to middle-grade students using individualized strategies
  • Implement IEP goals and modifications in both academic and social-emotional areas
  • Foster a therapeutic, engaging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Work collaboratively with counselors, therapists, and administration
  • Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records
  • Participate actively in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
