Step into a meaningful role supporting young students with diverse needs in an educational setting near Lagrange, IN. This contract opportunity is designed for a dedicated Special Education Teacher excited to work with a K-3 caseload for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll be instrumental in fostering growth for approximately 15-20 students with mild disabilities, helping each child build the skills and confidence they need for success.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
  • Previous experience in an elementary setting, preferably K-3
  • Demonstrated understanding of mild disabilities and appropriate instructional strategies
  • Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with families, colleagues, and support staff
  • Passion for supporting diverse learners and advocating for their needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and individualized academic support to K-3 students with mild disabilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Utilize engaging, differentiated teaching strategies to address a range of learning profiles
  • Track student progress, document outcomes, and adjust instructional plans as needed
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, therapists, and families
