Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Comfort with resource room models and grouping strategies for effective instruction
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and families
- Passion for supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a resource caseload of approximately 15 students, all secondary level (grades 6-12)
- Design, deliver, and adapt instructional activities to students’ individual education plans
- Utilize flexible grouping to maximize learning outcomes
- Work alongside a team of adults, maintaining a 1 teacher + 1 adult per 4 students ratio
- Build supportive relationships that empower students to achieve readiness for reintegration into traditional school settings
- Participate actively in meetings, planning, and professional development opportunities
