Special Education Teacher in Lake City, SC

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Comfort with resource room models and grouping strategies for effective instruction
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and families
• Passion for supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a resource caseload of approximately 15 students, all secondary level (grades 6-12)
• Design, deliver, and adapt instructional activities to students’ individual education plans
• Utilize flexible grouping to maximize learning outcomes
• Work alongside a team of adults, maintaining a 1 teacher + 1 adult per 4 students ratio
• Build supportive relationships that empower students to achieve readiness for reintegration into traditional school settings
• Participate actively in meetings, planning, and professional development opportunities
