Special Education Teacher | Lake Orion, Michigan

Embark on a meaningful contract assignment as a Special Education Teacher focused on cognitive impairment support, working with a dedicated team to make a difference in the lives of students. This full-time, onsite position is located near Lake Orion, MI, with hours from 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday.

In this role, you will work within a collaborative environment providing critical behavioral and mental health support. You will primarily support one student aged 8 or 9, leveraging a comprehensive, team-based approach to address behavioral, academic, and social-emotional needs. This opportunity extends through June 11, 2027, offering both stability and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher credentials required
• Current CI (Cognitive Impairment) certification is mandatory
• Experience or strong interest in working in ASD-type roles
• Background in managing behavioral and mental health interventions preferred
• Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to supporting differentiated learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to cognitive and behavioral needs
• Collaborate closely with team members including therapists, counselors, and classroom staff
• Support and monitor academic, social, and behavioral progress of the assigned student
• Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
• Communicate regularly with caregivers and fellow educators regarding student goals and progress
