Make an impact in the field of special education supporting elementary students in an inclusive, vibrant learning environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide direct instruction, case management, and individualized support in a self-contained classroom setting for K-5th grade students. Located near Lake Zurich, IL, with coverage in surrounding areas, you’ll carry a caseload of 8-12 students, fostering their growth and achievement over the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- State certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly in self-contained or similar settings
- Strong classroom management and the ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability and dedication to meeting diverse student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student’s IEP goals
- Maintain an engaging, structured classroom environment conducive to learning and safety
- Conduct assessments, measure progress, and document outcomes
- Foster positive relationships and open communication with families and support staff
- Collaborate with related services, general education staff, and administrators to implement best practices
- Participate in professional development, including a new staff training session (date to be determined)
This full-time opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with approximately 35 hours per week.
