A Special Education Teacher is needed in Lakeville, MN, approximately 50 minutes south of Minneapolis, to support K-8 students in a full-time contract position. This role focuses on providing essential services that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and self-advocacy aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher will work closely with both special education and general education requirements to support behavior regulation for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and interventions to support students' social and emotional development
- Implement behavior regulation strategies in accordance with IEPs across special education and general education settings
- Manage a K-8 caseload and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and adjust individualized plans
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and staff
Qualifications:
- Fully licensed to teach in Minnesota (ABS or School Social Worker license required)
- Experience working with students requiring behavioral and emotional support
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and implementation
- Ability to foster a supportive learning environment that encourages self-advocacy
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
