This contract role engages students in grades K-5 who present with high needs Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), offering a chance to truly impact their educational journey. With a manageable caseload of 7-9 students, you’ll tailor lessons and interventions focusing on functional communication and individualized growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid ASD teaching certification required
  • Demonstrated commitment to and passion for supporting students requiring substantial communication and behavioral assistance
  • Previous experience working with high needs ASD populations preferred
  • Creative, patient, and engaging instructional style
  • Ability to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet each student’s unique needs
  • Employ diverse instructional strategies and interventions supporting functional communication, independence, and behavioral regulation
  • Regularly assess student progress and adjust approaches based on data and observations
  • Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, related service providers, and families to promote continuity and success
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and professional development as required

This assignment runs from late February through mid-June, with full-time hours (Monday through Friday, 8-hour days including a 30-minute lunch break).
