Make a difference in the lives of elementary students as an Onsite Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This contracted role offers you the chance to support a tight-knit charter school community, working directly with a small caseload of K-6th grade students. With a total school population of just 100, you’ll be able to provide personalized support and build meaningful connections with your students.
You will play an active part in fostering growth for learners across a variety of needs while collaborating with a dedicated team of educators who value flexibility, compassion, and evidence-based teaching.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) licensure in Minnesota
- Or: General Education PELSB License T2 - T4 with special education experience (an out of field permission can be arranged for the right candidate)
- Experience teaching or working with elementary school students in special education settings
- Strong communication, advocacy, and organization skills
- Dedication to inclusive practices and individualized instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver direct instruction and academic supports to small groups or 1:1
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff
- Monitor student progress and document achievements
- Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging classroom environment
- Adhere to all state and school policies regarding special education
