Special Education Teacher in Lakeville, MN

Multiple contract opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers across different settings and grade levels. With ten openings, you'll have the chance to tailor your experience—from Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Developmental Cognitive Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders to Specific Learning Disabilities. These positions begin August 24, 2026, and continue through June 11, 2027, working a consistent 37.5-hour weekly schedule.

Engagements include:

• Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (Setting 3)
• Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Autism, Specific Learning Disability (Settings 1 & 2)
• Special Education (Setting 4)
• Autism (Setting 3)

Ideal qualifications:

• Active Minnesota teaching license in special education
• Experience or interest in settings 1, 2, 3, or 4, depending on assignment
• Dedication to fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families
• Prior experience in district preferred; candidates must have left previous positions in good standing

Role responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet varying abilities
• Track student progress and adjust strategies for academic and behavioral success
• Partner with support staff, administrators, and caregivers to ensure holistic student growth
• Maintain a positive and well-organized classroom climate
