Step into an impactful role supporting students across a diverse range of specialized programs as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a difference in onsite roles for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll work alongside a dedicated group of educators, taking on positions such as middle school resource teacher and center-based program support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD). The focus is on delivering effective behavioral strategies, helping shape individualized educational plans, and collaborating with colleagues across disciplines.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota teaching credential in one or more of the following: Special Education—ASD, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, or Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS optional but valued)
- Demonstrated expertise in behavior strategies and implementing behavior plans
- Strong record of excellent attendance and reliability
- Proficient in developing classroom structure, routines, and providing strong instructional support
- Collaborative attitude, with experience partnering closely with both special education and general education teammates, as well as paraprofessional scheduling and management
- Previous experience working with cross-categorical or center-based special education programs (middle school/elementary levels preferred)
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to individual learning plans
- Employ evidence-based behavior management techniques to foster a positive classroom environment
- Coordinate and collaborate with team members to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
- Document progress and maintain thorough records in compliance with school and state requirements
- Support paraprofessionals in classroom routines and student interventions
