Special Education Teacher - Lakeville, MN

One position focuses on supporting students in a center-based EBD (Emotional/Behavioral Disorders) program, providing instruction and interventions tailored to a variety of unique behavioral and emotional needs. The other role works with students in a center-based ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) program, where you’ll engage learners who benefit from functional communication supports and the Unique Learning Systems curriculum. Both positions are set within elementary school environments and offer the opportunity to collaborate with skilled teams to help each child reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications:

• Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (required).
• Experience with EBD or ASD student populations in school-based settings preferred.
• Understanding of center-based programming models and ability to adapt instruction to varying learning needs.
• Familiarity with the Unique Learning Systems curriculum is highly valued, especially for the ASD-focused role.
• Strong commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide direct instruction and behavioral/social support within a center-based classroom.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and modify interventions as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and support staff to ensure student success.
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and related school activities.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
