This contract special education teaching position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team while providing high-quality instruction and individualized support for students with unique learning challenges. This role serves as a possible backfill for an existing special education position.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Minnesota teaching license (required)
- Previous experience as a special education teacher or in a similar school-based setting is highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Competence in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Ability to foster positive, inclusive classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and compliant instruction to students with a variety of learning or behavioral needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Work in partnership with therapists, counselors, and other specialized support staff
- Monitor student progress and make data-driven adjustments to teaching methods
- Communicate proactively with families, sharing progress and collaborating on student plans
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
