Special Education Teacher - Lakewood, NM

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification or licensure
• Experience with IEPs, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring
• Strong collaboration skills for working with a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to adapt to changing classroom and student needs
• For virtual applicants: proficiency with remote learning tools and technology
• For case management roles: exceptional organizational skills and IEP case direction experience

Responsibilities & Duties: Resource/Inclusion Teachers:

• Deliver specialized instruction in resource and inclusive classroom settings
• Support students’ academic and social-emotional growth through tailored plans
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
• Track student progress and update goals in accordance with IEP mandates

Case Managers:

• Serve as primary contact for a designated caseload of students
• Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate IEP meetings with staff and parents
• Manage paperwork, timelines, and compliance documentation
• Communicate regularly with support teams and stakeholders to ensure student needs are met
